what I ate wednesday #16 – Johnny, I Hardly Knew Ya!

It’s Wednesday again! Time goes by so quickly! It’s hard to imagine that we are closer to easter! Today I’d like to restart my collaboration with wiaw, I miss a lot to share my daily meals with you, people!

Perhaps you’re thinking about the title of the post – Johnny, I Hardly Knew Ya!. Well, don’t waste you time on it! hehehe I didn’t know how to title the post, so I chose the title song that was listening while I wrote the post! Nothing more to say! 😛 Oops, Dropkick Murphys is the band.

Well, without any other delay, let me show you what I ate on wednesday!

As always I started my day with a big bowl of smoothie and homemade granola. The smoothie contained 2 bananas, 8 strawberries and rice milk. And as I said in my last post I did the granola with oats, pumpkin seeds, chia seeds, agave syrup and shredded coconut. Until now, this is the homemade granola I love the most.

At mid-morning, I had a hot green tea. A media mañana, tomé un té verde bien caliente.

For lunch, I ate at work and this time I ate a big dish of salad that contained corn, purple cabbage, raw broccoli, sprouted lentils and carrot. Very simple but tasty. At office we have a microwave but I don’t like to use it. I prefer to carry simple but nutritious cold meals.

At mid-afternoon, and before my English class I had a healthy snack – homemade soy yogurt and a kiwi. 🙂

Due to my English class, my hubby (who learns english too) and I usually arrive at home late. For that reason, we tend to prepare/cook something easy-to-do. My choice was hummus with cruditées (carrot & celery) and gluten-free bread. I love it! ¡Me encanta!

🙂

i like mondays!

Yes, I know, it’s Tuesday, but I want to talk about my Monday! 🙂

I hope you started your week with the biggest smile!

After a weekend full of celebrations, visits and stuff like that, I need my food routine in order to feel better. So Sunday night, I was planning (more or less) my week to seize the best of my time!

I started Monday with a delicious smoothie. Simple but delicious. Spinach, strawberries and rice milk topped with my homemade granola (oats, pumpkin seeds, chia seeds, agave syrup and shredded coconut). A nice way to start the day!!

The day at the office was calm and pleasant. Full of work but I could do it at my pace. My lunch time always starts at 2pm, and today had a bowl of salad of greens (lettuce and watercress), raw diced red bell pepper, raw sliced mushroom, cucumber, lentil sprouts (homemade) and nori flakes tossed in umeboshi vinegar.

Before my English class, I took a homemade soy iogurt (I have prepared a post about it – very soon!) and diced kiwi! As a afternoon beverage I drunk a vanilla rooibos tea.

For dinner, I had some leftovers. Brown rice with tons of veggies and beans. I have to say that the dish was cooked by my mother-in-law who always cooked lovely vegan dishes for me.

Due to my English classes (Monday and Wednesday), I couldn’t go to train. 😦 And last week I signed up for a 11K run what will take place next month. I have to train to improve my time since after the ankle sprain my results have got worse a little. 🙂

See you soon! ¡Nos vemos pronto!

🙂

raw challenge for a day

Hello my friends!

In recent months, I have been thinking and learning about the raw diet. And really, this kind of diet is surprising me a lot. It’s wonderful! It’s a lovely way in order to feel great and live longer.

But, we have to try things to judge. For that reason, I have tried this diet for a day. I know a day it’s not enough, so I want to try for a month, as soon as possible.

Let me show my today’s meals.

I started my day with a green smoothie. Sorry, but I forgot to take the picture. The smoothie contained the following ingredients: 1 banana, 20 blueberries, 4 strawberries, and a bunch of spinaches. What can I say… delicious! 🙂

This kind of breakfast maintained my stomach full during the morning, so until the lunchtime I didn’t need to eat anything more. Full belly, full happiness.

Lunch time!!! A XXL Salad (greens, purple cabbage, 2 apples, 1 tomato, 1 carrot, 1 tsp of sunflower seeds and 1 tsp of olive oil)

I was very excited for my mid-afternoon snack. I couldn’t wait but I was a good girl and I waited until the afternoon. 😛 After preparing my breakfast, I “cooked” my mid-afternoon snack; my 1st raw strawberry cream pie!! It’s very, very easy to do, and it won’t be the last time I do. I’m going to repeat a lot of times. Easy and versatile. P-E-R-F-E-C-T! Absolutely.

I’m falling in love with this pie!!

To finish my day, I prepared some raw zuchini pasta with beet sauce. A big bowl of happiness.

Well, what can I say… it has been a glorious day. As I said at the beginning of the post, a day is not enough to judge this kind of diet; but the experience has been so good that I’m sure that I’m going to try it for a month. No doubt about it. I enjoyed a lot every meal, I have had a constant energy all day, without bumps. I felt very comfortable with my digestion. The last days, I have been adding more raw food on my meals, but now, I’ve decided to add more. During the day, I have not stopped thinking about new raw recipes … I could not stop thinking and creating!

I have decided to go Raw for 30 days. I don’t know when, but it will be very soon. I’ve always been interested in eating a raw diet, but never had the guts to completely jump in and do it. I was eating about 50% raw, I just needed the extra push to move to eating 100% raw vegan food. What I found is that eating raw is not only easy to do, but makes you feel amazing.
When you eat raw, you’re eating living food.

I keep you informed about my improvements in this kind of diet.

See you soon!!

I keep you informed about my improvement in this kind of diet.

See you soon!!

wiaw #8: i luv greens and Mes Sin Carne (Meatless Month Initiative)

Hello!! How about going on Wednesday? My Wednesday was great! Really, lately i’m in a good mood. 🙂

And, as every Wednesday, I show you mi participation in WIAW!

Let’s go!

As always, let’s start with my breakfast. Yesterday I had dinner a handmade pizza (Recipe soon!), and today I woke up with stomach still full … hehehe so I decided to start my day with something lighter and I really wanted some fruit! Well, my breakfast today was a bowl of kiwi, strawberries and tangerines with walnuts. It was great!

At 12,  I took a small snack (which I forgot to photograph). A slice of rye and cereals bread  with vegan cream “cheese”.
Time to have lunch! My lunch of today was very, very simple. Chard sautéed with garlic and onion and chickpeas. (Actually the taste is better than the look!)
For a snack, a little fancy for me. 😛 Chocolate soy with rice flakes.
So, the dinner. Quinoa with broccoli, and meatless balls (texturized soy  and zucchini) with yakisoba sauce.
I would like to take this opportunity to introduce you a Spanish initiative that is gradually making its way in the blogger world. It’s the Meatless Month (Mes Sin Carne). The month of March and the Meatless Day is a good time to show everyone what this is the veganism, so let’s do it! NewVeganGoddess is going to contribute for the second year of this great initiative. Let’s fill the blogging world of ideas and experiences, to share and learn, have fun and enjoy the kitchen.

wiaw #7: playing for changes.

Hello my friends!

It’s wednesday again, the day for bloggers! I think there are a lot of bloggers that every week we are waiting for wednesday! mjiji It’s amazing!.

Well, well… Today my breakfast has been different, not soy yogurt, not muesli… Why? I don’t know,  I try to change my meals and not to fall into the routine… It’s more funny to try new things, then every day is different! Furthermore, I think that we have to obey our body – because our body knows what we need every moment -, and sometimes our body asks for something different. Do not think the same?

As was I saying, my breakfast has been a little bit different. Brown croissant stuffed with vegan chesse, fried onion and green shoots (i think it’s the correct word!). And also (not pictured),  a cup of oatmeal drink with cocoa.

For my mid-morning snack; a banana and a red tea, that I forgot to take the photo…! 😦

Time to have lunch… For today, a delicious salad that contains cous-cous, purple cabbage, fried tofu, corn and carrots! If you love salads, you can taste it! Believe me! 🙂

Let me explain you a couple of things. First of all, I have gone to an eco shop to buy carob flour in order to cook a new cake. I have a new recipe and I want to try it! I’ll share with you soon! I promise!

And the second thing that I wanted to show you. My snack!. 😛 I ate it before my English class. Brown rye bread with PB and kiwi.

Finally, my dinner. Chard, onion and chickpeas.

🙂

wiaw #6 Instagram style!

Hello!!! 🙂 It’s that time again for What I Ate Wednesday!  I’m sad that I didn’t get the chance to type up a blog post for last week’s WIAW. Hopefully, this post will make up for it!

Well, all the pictures that appears in the today post have been taken by instagram. Yes, short time ago I discovered this app and I like it!. 😛

And, all the pics had been taken in the office, and today we haven’t had much light. It has been a cloudy day. I’m sorry.

I have started the day with a tea. (red tea, plum and anise). The pic was taken after drinking it! mjijiji

Time for breakfast! Soy yogurt (apricot-flavored) with strawberries, oat flakes and wheat germ.

At 12:00 I have a midmorning snack, but there’s no picture. Almonds and a kiwi. 🙂

Then, it’s time for having lunch!.

Salad of lentils, zucchini, corn and pumpkin seeds. The dish is served with polenta chips.

At 18:00, I took my afternoon snack. This time is a slice of rye bread with tofu pate, and an apple.

After the snack, I went to take a long walk before my English class. During the walk, I took the opportunity to go to buy ecological brown rice and vegan croissants. I have also gone through the municipal market, where was still decorated on the occasion of the celebration of Carnival.

And finally, my dinner. Easy and delicious; VEGAN PIZZA!

tomato sauce, zucchini, tpv and vegan chesese.

And that’s all for today!

And you? Do you use Instagram? go ahead! there, my nickname is sikah.
